ENRICH

LUMCON uses education and outreach to enable the next generation of marine scientists and ocean-literate citizens. We enhance Louisiana Universities’ marine science curricula with skill- and place-based courses at the DeFelice Marine Center and by coordinating collaborative marine science courses across the Consortium. We are dedicated to strengthening and expanding opportunities for underserved and underrepresented students in marine science.

TRANSFORM

Through both the DeFelice Marine Center faculty and other Consortium researchers, LUMCON is building a thriving intellectual community that contributes directly to science and conservation. In service to this community, we provide oceanographic assets, research vessels, and marine facilities, including housing, laboratories, unique experimental systems, a marine science library, and support staff. In addition, we contribute to science from marsh to blue water in unique ways while serving as a resource for environmental monitoring and long-term datasets for the region.
